  While I really liked this doctor when I met him and was more than happy to have him do my surgery, the scheduling staff was an absolute nightmare to deal with. It had been 2 weeks since my consult and I had not heard anything from them so I decided to call. They would only book out a couple of weeks in advance and since I am a single mother and work an abnormal schedule where it is difficult to take off of work, I could not rearrange things that quickly. I needed about one month out to make arrangements for work coverage and childcare but they didn't have a schedule up that far in advance. I asked the person scheduling to make a note to let me know when the schedule was up and to tentatively put my name down for the 21st. I had a feeling that the lady would not do as asked so I called the next Monday. I had to call again that Thursday because I did not receive a call back after leaving a message. When I did get in touch with her on that Thursday, she said she had already booked that day but could do the 20th. So I cleared my schedule and got childcare lined up. I called back the next Monday to confirm because she had said that my insurance had not approved yet and I wanted to make sure I had time to call and harass Blue Cross if I needed to. Again, I left a message and, again, I had no response. I called again today. I spoke with a lovely lady who handles approvals and she said she would have the lady from scheduling call me back. When she called me back, she informed me that my surgeon was not doing surgeries that week and I would need to book for the next week to get my surgeon. WTF?? This is AFTER talking to me previously about the dates and she couldn't have told me THEN that my surgeon wasn't working?? I would have to wait ANOTHER month to get my schedule rearranged, for which she wouldn't have the schedule up yet, to try to guess when I would be able to get in and go through this crap all over again. Meanwhile, I get to sit around with a lump in my breast trying to find someone able to take the thing out. I am beyond pissed off and this situation is beyond unacceptable. It takes a whole lot to get me upset like this. This just takes the cake.
